When I was 13 years old, in 1998, we went on a trip to Visakhapatnam, a beach city in Andhra Pradesh. In that holiday trip with my family, we visited several places including the harbour, sea shore and other tourist spots. One of the tourist spots was Kailashgiri which we reached in the evening. We reached there at around 5.30 or 6 PM when it was about to be dark.
Kailashgiri is a small hill located on the beach side of the city and on which very big idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi have been constructed. The location will be cool in the evening because of the cool breeze from the sea and in the evenings it would be a great view of the entire city on one side and the sea on the other side separated by a golden line like beach.
After almost 11 years, I went to Visakhapatnam again on a trip along with my colleagues. The main reason behind this trip however was a marriage of one of my project mates. So we thought it would be better to go on a 2 day trip as it was a weekend. I still remembered some of the scenic places of Kailashgiri but my memory was not so great that I could remember everything.
I had some memories of my previous visit to Kailashgiri in my mind. Of course, people might call them memories but I call them as images taken by my eye and stored in my mind. I feel that is not a bad comparison because we would normally take pictures or photographs of special occasions in a camera and store it in an album. So after 11 years, I could hardly recollect all my images (memories) from my mind and each image is so blurred and was not clear in my mind. As it is a long time, when I entered Visakhapatnam, I was very much looking forward for making those old and blurred images(memories) to be clear and replaced again.
So, on the day of our arrival to Vizag, another name for Visakhapatnam, we planned for a city tour. I am much excited to go and see every spot and recollect everything and replace all my blurred images with fresh ones. We went for a boat ride in the sea, visited Sub marine museum, fishing harbor and then to Rishikonda beach where we enjoyed a lot in the sea. Everyone was enjoying in the sea waters and tides except one......ME.
Unfortunately, when I entered the sea waters, the sea took away my spectacles. I was damn angry about me. Why did not I put them somewhere before entering into water? I searched for my glasses amidst enjoying in the water, all the time we were there but there was no use. I could not find them. There were many thoughts running in my mind. How could I attend the marriage tomorrow? How could I see the rest of the places? How would I be going to manage without taking any body's help?
I was disappointed and decided to have new glasses as soon as we reach the city from the beach if they will be made ready. On the way, we stopped to visit Kailashgiri, one of my favorite spots and I was very much interested to visit to. Coincidentally, we reached Kailashgiri at the same time of my previous visit. But without my glasses, what would I see? I could not recognize the person who is at a distance greater than 5 feet. I could recognize the faces of any individual. Only thing I could say is there is someone over there. Everything is again a blur to me now in reality. Though I managed to see things with my digital camera, it is not that useful.
The blurred and unclear images of Kailashgiri in my mind now matched with the total real blur. I am unable to replace those images with the new ones because I lost my glasses in the sea. Poor me!! So the blurred images of Kailashgiri continued to stay mind now. This is my story of how I got blurred in my imagination and in reality as far as Vizag trip is concerned.
However later I managed to buy a pair of glasses for me on the same night and I am wearing them while writing this post and feeling when I would see Kailashgiri again!!!!
